  6. This is the final version of my PovRay v3.00 MS-DOS port to the Atari
  7. platform. Previous versions lacked PNG support due to unported ZLIB
  8. and PNG libraries, but this situation has now been rectified.
  9.  
  10. The archives names are:
  11.  
  12. POV3_DAT.LZH    -    Docs, includes, data files and demos.
  13. POV3_SCN.LZH    -    Example scene library (updated to v3.00).
  14.  
  15. POV3_68K.LZH    -    68000 & 68000+68881/2 executables.
  16. POV3_030.LZH    -    68030 & 68030+68881/2 executables.
  17. POV3_040.LZH    -    68040 executable.
  18.  
  19. You _can_ achieve a working setup with just POV3_DAT.LZH and one
  20. of the 3 executable archives. It is however advisable that you
  21. also download the POV3_SCN.LZH since most of the examples are
  22. to be found there. The examples are useful while learning to
  23. use POV3, and the program cannot be legally distributed without
  24. them (see POVLEGAL.DOC).

  26. The main differences between the last release and the new one are:
  27.  
  28. * PNG support now implemented.
  29.  
  30. * New built-in Falcon screenblanker option.
  31.  
  32. * Timing accuracy imroved from 2 seconds to 1/200th sec.
  33.  
  34. * Several MSDOS bugs fixed.
  35.  
  36. * New optimised binaries using GCC++ v2.7.2:
  37.  
  38.   > Binaries included for all processor/FPU types.
  39.   > New 68000+68881/2 (SFP004) combination supported.
  40.   > New 68040+FPSP combination supported.
